With traditional orthodontic treatment, the orthodontist uses special tools at each appointment to manually the archwire threaded through your brackets at each office visit. With the SureSmile system, the archwire is shaped using state-of-the-art robotic technology. While the time frame for orthodontic treatment varies for each patient, the precise movements of each of your teeth are pre-planned through 3D scanning and simulation. The target position of each tooth is planned in advance, so you’ll know exactly what outcome to expect before even starting treatment.

- Advanced Imaging – Our Charleston orthodontist creates a 3-D computer model of your bite by using advanced imaging technology to scan your teeth. The 3-D image is captured with the OraScanner® or Cone Beam Computed Tomography. This highly technical scan allow your orthodontist to better analyze the position of your teeth and roots by showing additional tissue types, such as bone, teeth, nerves, and soft tissue.
- Precise Treatment Planning – The 3-D model shows Dr. Reese how your teeth fit together from every angle.
